Janbaz’s Story #1 – I’m Janbaz, a Refugee from Afghanistan.
Hi, my name is Janbaz. I am from Ghazni, Afghanistan, but I have never been to Ghazni as I finished my high school in Kabul.
Because of the war, persecution against Hazara people and personal reasons, my family and I escaped Afghanistan. We arrived in Indonesia in 2013 and registered our names at UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees). It is almost 6 years that we have been here.
We live in Indonesia, outside of Jakarta, in Cisarua, Bogor.
I loved photography when I was a child but I started taking pictures in Indonesia, inside our refugee community at Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre (CRLC). CRLC was established by refugees for refugees.
Since I love to be a Photographer and Filmmaker, I tried to find someone to teach me more and I found Anatman Pictures through one of my friends.
The first time I joined Anatman Pictures as an intern, it was for two months and these were productive months for me and I enjoyed learning from each of them. We went to different places shooting videos (filming) and every time was a lesson for me. Personally, I enjoyed filming Mina Asadi, Michael Essien and at GO-JEK Indonesia office.
After a few months, I contacted Tasha and Putra to rejoin with Anatman Pictures as an intern, as I always love learning from Anatman.
I received a positive answer from them and I re-joined on 22 January 2018. Everyone at Anatman has welcomed me warmly and now we have become good friends with eachother.
Now, I will do a vlog video to introduce myself.
