The End of One Chapter, The Start of Another

I never imagined that my curiosity about the creative industry—especially filmmaking—would turn into one of the most comforting and fulfilling experiences I’ve had during college.
Landing my first internship at Anatman felt like stepping into a whole new world.
I still remember the adrenaline rush on my first day—I walked into a film set as a curious intern, completely unsure of what to expect, but I was immediately included in the production process. I was amazed by how much teamwork, planning, and attention to detail goes into creating just one scene. It was fast-paced, chaotic in the best way, and totally unforgettable. I knew then that this was the kind of environment I wanted to keep learning in.
Still, what truly left a lasting impression was not just the work itself, but the people behind it. From the very start, I encountered some of the kindest and most supportive individuals I could have hoped for. The team never treated me as “just an intern”—they welcomed me as if I already belonged. Their patience, encouragement, and openness to share what they knew turned what could have been an intimidating experience into something truly uplifting. It really showed how much the people in a space can shape the entire experience.
Mba Putri, in particular—my supervisor—taught me a lot throughout the internship. Her way of giving feedback was always clear and constructive, which made it easier to understand what could be improved without feeling discouraged. She had a way of making the learning process feel easy and reassuring. It never felt like there was any pressure to get everything right the first time. And beyond all that, she was forgiving and always fun to talk to—getting to work closely with her definitely became one of the things I appreciated most from this internship.
To everyone at Anatman—Mas Putra, Mas Panji, Kak Renee, Mas Abrian, Mas Sigit, Mas Imam, Mas Ijal, Kak Wina, and Abah—thank you for building a space where learning feel effortless and unforced. You created a work environment that was relaxed but still focused, collaborative but never overwhelming. I learned so much just by observing how you all worked. And to the interns—Ara, Amara, Atsal, Ferdi, and Jey—being around people who were figuring things out too made everything feel a little less scary and a lot more fun. Thank you for being such a supportive team to grow alongside.
Lastly, the heart of the house—Mba Risma, Mas Didi, Abang, and Mello—made the space feel truly like home. I looked forward to Mba Risma’s cooking every day; her meals brought a comforting warmth that stood out amid the busy days of work. Meanwhile, Mas Didi quietly kept everything running smoothly, whether it was fixing technical issues or simply checking in to make sure all was well around the house. Their son, Abam, would sometimes play in the office, and those breaks spent playing with him always brightened my day. And then there was Mello, the office dog, wandering around, adding a cozy, homely touch to the whole atmosphere.
It’s these small, everyday connections, alongside the work itself, that made my time at Anatman so meaningful. Being part of a space where people care not just about the output, but also about creating a supportive and inclusive environment, allowed me to grow in ways I didn’t expect. The things I picked up here—whether technical skills or simply learning how to move through a creative space with humility and intention—are things I’ll continue to carry with me, long after this internship ends. I’m grateful for the chance to be part of such a team and for everything I learned along the way.
Thank you, Anatman. What a comforting place to begin.
